Penal institutions through criminal science, prison law, prison administration, work, health and hygiene treatment and architecture: three case studies on the ‘island of punishment’ during the Kingdom of Italy (the San Bartolomeo penal colony, the Castiadas penal colony and Buoncammino prison)”.
