This week, with the handover of the works site, the final phase began of the PNRR — National Recovery and Resilience Plan — activities dedicated to removing physical and intangible barriers at the Cagliari State Archives.
The project, for which the contracting authority is the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the provinces of Oristano and Southern Sardinia, includes the installation of lifts and platforms, tactile guidance paths and the reorganisation of the study room and the inventories room.
For this reason, the Archives will not be accessible through the main entrance at 2 Via Gallura until June 2026. Access will be through 4 Via Gallura.
Consultation will continue by appointment because the works and related activities will reduce the space available in the Institute.
To consult documents in the study room, please email as-ca.salastudio.richieste@cultura.gov.it well in advance of the day you wish to visit and wait for a reply from the Institute.
Users will receive details of the date, time and access arrangements.
Please consult the Institute’s website and social media channels for updates.
