Regulated use of spaces at the Cagliari State Archives for cultural, educational and institutional activities

What the service offers

The Cagliari State Archives makes some of its spaces available for cultural, educational and institutional initiatives consistent with its public mission.

The use of these spaces is a means of enhancing the heritage and opening the institution to the community, supporting events that promote knowledge, research and cultural dialogue.

The premises must be used in a way that safeguards the archival heritage and allows institutional services to operate normally. Each concession is subject to current regulations and is assessed by the Institute’s staff according to criteria of transparency, fairness and consistency with the Archives’ cultural purposes.

Available spaces

The conference room is intended for conferences, seminars, presentations, public meetings and cultural initiatives compatible with the Institute’s activities.

  • overall capacity of approximately 85 seats;
  • bench seating and movable chairs;
  • sound system;
  • video projector;
  • computer with internet connection;
  • air conditioning.

Its technical features make the room suitable for public engagement, educational and institutional events, subject to safety and heritage protection requirements.

Criteria and conditions for use

The use of the premises is governed by specific internal regulations and is subject to the following criteria:

  • activities must be compatible with the Archives’ institutional mission;
  • the Archives reserves the right to grant or refuse use of its premises;
  • when requests overlap, priority is given to initiatives considered most consistent with the nature of the Institute;
  • use of the premises may be subject to a fee or free of charge, depending on the type of applicant and the purpose of the initiative.

Specific conditions apply to public bodies, schools, non-profit associations and private parties. The concession holder also has obligations regarding liability, safety, cleaning and restoration of the premises.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted sufficiently in advance of the planned date of the initiative and must include:

  • details of the applicant and the responsible contacts;
  • the period and duration of use;
  • a description of the proposed activity or event;
  • the aims of the initiative.

If the application is accepted, the concession is formalised by signing the documents required by the Regulations and paying the fee, where applicable, in accordance with the procedures specified by the Institute.
