The social media channels of the State Archives of Cagliari are spaces dedicated to the promotion of culture, the enhancement of archival heritage and the dissemination of information about the Institute’s activities, events and services.
The Archives considers dialogue with the public an integral part of its online presence: comments, observations, suggestions and criticism can help improve understanding of users’ needs and contribute to improving the quality of services and communication.
This Social Media Policy describes how the Archives manages its social media channels and the participation rules users are expected to follow.
Our channels

Management
The institutional social media profiles and pages are managed by the State Archives of Cagliari.
The Archives is responsible for content published through its official accounts, but not for content appearing on profiles, pages, groups or other spaces that are not managed by the Institute.
Social media channels do not replace the institutional channels provided for formal communications, applications, administrative procedures or requests requiring user identification.
Published content
Content may include text, images, photographs, videos, links, documents and other materials relating to the institutional and cultural activities of the Archives.
Publication is intended to promote information, knowledge, accessibility and participation, using formats and language appropriate to the different channels.
Sharing content

Participation and moderation
Dialogue with users
Dialogue with the public is welcome.
Comments, observations, suggestions and constructive criticism contribute to dialogue between the Institute and its users and may provide useful guidance for improving activities, services and communication.
Participation must respect both individuals and the purposes of the institutional channels.
Netiquette
Participants in conversations are requested to:
- use civil and respectful language;

Moderation
As a rule, user comments are not subject to prior moderation.
However, the Archives may hide or remove content that violates this Social Media Policy or the terms of use of the platform.
In the event of repeated or particularly serious violations, the Archives may also use the tools provided by the platform to restrict interactions or block an account.
Moderation is intended to ensure civil and relevant spaces for discussion and is not used to remove criticism, negative opinions or differing points of view when these are expressed in compliance with the participation rules.
Prohibited content
Content may be removed if it includes:
- threats, insults or seriously offensive language;
- discriminatory content or content that infringes the dignity and rights of individuals;
- incitement to hatred or violence;

- phishing, fraudulent content, malware or potentially dangerous links;
- content that infringes copyright or other third-party rights.
Contributions that are clearly off-topic or characterised by repeated use of vulgar language may also be moderated.
Protection of personal data
Social networks are platforms managed by third parties. Their use involves the processing of personal data also governed by the privacy notices and terms established by the respective providers.
Users are therefore invited not to publish personal data, private documents or confidential information in comments.
Where a communication requires the submission of personal data or documents, the institutional channels indicated on the Contact page or in the relevant service must be used.
