On Friday 12 December, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Cagliari State Archives will open their doors for a workshop tour. Institute staff will guide the public in discovering historical sources concerning Sardinia: carefully selected maps, registers and notarial records will illustrate the transformations that have taken place over time and changed local areas and their relationship with their inhabitants.
Thanks to PNRR funding, the documents on display will soon be available in digital format. The Institute is carrying out a major digitisation project to produce digital resources involving approximately 12,000 maps and 2,000 registers relating to historical land registers.
The tour is free, subject to availability, and does not require booking. Last admission is at 6:30 p.m.
The event will also be offered in Italian Sign Language (LIS), from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
