Archive and Horizons

Archive and Horizons it is the container that collects and recounts the initiatives through which the State Archives of Cagliari experiments with new forms of valorisation, access and sharing of heritage.

This page was designed to accompany you through the main project areas of the Archive, offering a unified understanding of the ongoing transformations. Contents are organized by thematic areas which connect projects, initiatives and future prospects, also including the interventions financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, read as part of a broader path of evolution of the Institute.

It is the horizon within which the renewal of places dedicated to the conservation and use of a heritage that deserves to be made available to all takes shape.

The initiatives and projects through which the Archive imagines and implements the renewal of its spaces, understood as places of conservation, work and public use, converge in this horizon.
Interventions on buildings, systems and operating environments aim to create adequate, safe and sustainable conditions for the protection of heritage and its full accessibility. Investing in places means assuming a long-term responsibility: guaranteeing that the preserved heritage can be preserved and made usable in contexts worthy of its historical and cultural value.

It is the horizon within which we imagine an Archive capable of expanding the possibilities of access to the heritage over time, welcoming different audiences and multiple modes of use.
