1. The Library of the Cagliari State Archives
The Cagliari State Archives Library complements archival consultation with a specialist book collection dedicated to history, archival science, palaeography, diplomatic studies and related disciplines. The service was created to support the study of documentary sources and to provide useful tools for their interpretation and contextualisation. The Library is an integral part of the Institution’s research activities and serves as a point of reference for scholars, students and users engaged in historical and institutional research.

The Library service is aimed at:
- scholars and researchers
- university students and graduates
- Reading Room users
- members of the public interested in consulting specialist texts
Consultation is reserved for users admitted to the Archive’s services.

The Library's collection includes:
- works on archival science, paleography and diplomatic studies
- texts on local, national and institutional history

The collection has grown over time in response to the Archive’s institutional activities and the needs of research.
4. Consultation procedures
The library is for on-site consultation only. The volumes are available exclusively for consultation on the premises, and external lending is not available. Consultation follows procedures similar to those of the Reading Room and is supported by staff, who assist users in locating materials.
5. Access to the service
Access to the Library is granted to users who are duly registered for the services of the Cagliari State Archives. To gain access, it is necessary to:
- be registered as an Archive user
- comply with the consultation and preservation rules for library materials

To ensure the proper preservation of the book collection, users are required to:
- handle the volumes correctly
