Among other matters, the decree defines the two-year duration of the advanced training course, admission requirements, admission examinations, the requirement to attend at least 80% of classes, the examination and final assessment system, and the curriculum divided into compulsory, specialist and optional subjects.

The “Transitional provisions” referred to in Article 16 concern APD School courses that have ended or are currently under way, as set out below:

1. Courses in archival science, palaeography and diplomatics that are under way on the date these Regulations enter into force shall continue to be governed, until their conclusion, by the legislation in force up to that date.

2. Within one year of the conclusion of the last course referred to in paragraph 1, the Schools shall organise an additional examination session for the award of the diploma in archival science, palaeography and diplomatics under the provisions in force up to the date these Regulations enter into force.

3. Diplomas in archival science, palaeography and diplomatics awarded under the provisions in force up to the date these Regulations enter into force are equivalent to those awarded pursuant to these Regulations.
