New Multimedia Spaces for Exploring the Archives’ Heritage

The PNRR intervention has been completed to create accessible, interactive and open exhibition itineraries for different audiences

A new path to access heritage

The activities for the creation of the new exhibition and multimedia spaces of the State Archives of Cagliari have been concluded. The intervention, entrusted to H.G.V. Italia S.r.l., was financed as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and aims to expand the possibilities of knowledge and use of the archival heritage.

Seven centuries of history told in the corridor

The visit itinerary starts from a timeline divided into seven stages, dedicated to the seven centuries of history of the Institute. Images and texts in Italian and English, accompanied by Braille translations, lead towards a vertical screen animated by an avatar, designed to welcome and orient visitors.

Flexible and interactive exhibition rooms

The project includes a room intended for temporary exhibitions and two environments for the permanent exhibition. An immersive room uses three projectors and a digital touch lectern to present documents, multimedia content and interactive activities. A second room integrates a digital table with touchscreen monitor and display cases for the display of original documents.

Content accessible and implementable over time

The contents have been designed in different forms to reach the widest possible audience, with particular attention to people with sensory and cognitive disabilities and the needs of linguistic and cultural inclusion. The technologies installed can also be updated and used to present new paths, documents and materials from the Archive.
