The teaching of “Storia degli Archivi e dell’Archivistica” provides the knowledge about the origin and diffusion of archives and practices of documentary preservation, from the remote age to the present, passing through the Greek-Roman classicity, the Middle Ages and the modern age, until the birth of practices, procedures and mentalities that prelude to the current methodological guidelines.
The course also provides for the teaching of linements of thought that have oriented the archival doctrine over the centuries, with regard to the relations between the cultural context of the different eras, the evolution of discipline and the technical solutions identified.
