Rules, protection and organization of the archival heritage

The work of the archivist could not take place without a solid knowledge of sectoral legislation.

The teaching of “Archivestical Legislation” focuses on the complex of rules that regulate the entire life of documents and the protection activities carried out by the state archives administration, in particular the action of the State Archives and the archivist and bibliographical Superintendencies.

From the first provisions of the protection of the archival patrimony introduced by the pre-unitary States up to the present framework, the study of archival legislation contributes to training professionals who, both in the private practice and in the activity within the public administration, know how to move safely in the activities of protection, conservation, design, execution, consultancy.
